Scan a QR code anywhere in the university building, choose where you want to go, and NavigatorPM draws the route on the floor map. Routing runs on the phone, and an admin panel lets the team add points and connect them into a graph.
On my first day at university I was late for my first class even though I arrived thirty minutes early, because I could not find the room. The building is hard to navigate, and I have thought about fixing that ever since. When the KNI board asked for projects beyond Plan PM, I pitched it and two other members joined. The map data lives in JSON files instead of a database. We argued about that at first, but it won for a practical reason: JSON is versioned in Git, so everyone works on exactly the same map, while a database file is binary and cannot be diffed. The admin panel for adding points and connections, the floor map and the route drawing already work. The current work is drawing the remaining floors, and I have asked the university for its evacuation plans to trace them from.
